At L’Arte del Gelato, we believe first and foremost in our essential ingredients, which are our number one concern and the source of all our inspiration. We let the ingredients guide us and we know the better the quality the louder they speak. We use local products whenever possible – New Jersey peaches, Concord grapes, and New York apples to name a few. We also bring in pistachios from Bronte, Sicily, nougat from Cremona, and hazelnuts from the Piemonte region.
Wherever our products come from, they are selected for one reason only, because they are the best.
We also believe in the seasonality of flavors. In the cold months you will find pumpkin and chestnut. In the warm months you will find peach and berry. The seasons offer us a bounty of those foods we should eat for both our health and enjoyment. Quality and flavor are at their peak when seasons are respected. Everything works together and connects. We believe strongly in that connection and so you can guess where we stand on foods that are processed, pre-packaged or pumped with chemicals which disrupt the connection and ruin flavor. We don’t even put air into our gelato. We let the ingredients guide us, always seeking new flavors to bring you. Everything totally natural. Quite simply we would not have it any other way. We would just as soon hang up our aprons and snap off the lights.
