The nutrients and calories analysis in artisanal gelato, as well as of the effects of its consumption when it is cold outside, proves that ice cream in winter brings various benefits either to the body and mind. Please note we are referring to artisanal gelato, a food prepared with high quality

First of all, mineral salts, vitamins A, B6, B12, D and E, phosphorus and calcium, make artisanal gelato an excellent strengthener for the bones and for the immune system. This is true especially during the winter, when the last one is severely tested.

Stress relief!

While we eat gelato, our brain subconsciously associates it with moments of happiness and serenity, awakening the memories of lovely moments of our childhood. Thanks to these elements, gelato stimulates the production of serotonin (the hormone of happiness), and this is great especially in winter when our good mood can be compromised by cold and bad weather. Two other important benefits of eating gelato in winter are the reduction of stress and the improvement of sleep quality. Tryptophan, an amino acid that can be found in milk, is in fact able to help lowering the level of stress in our body, while relaxing the nervous system.

Immune system supporter!

Paradoxically, consuming a cold food such as gelato, during the winter would ultimately help alleviate intolerance to low temperatures. In particular, the artisan gelato, thanks to its refreshing action is also an excellent help to relieve sore throat.

Ally in nutritional diet!

Finally, lovers of the perfect silhouette can consume good gelato with no pangs of conscience. You may just pay attention to the flavors choice, going for those ones which are prepared with less caloric raw materials.
